Lawrcon Electric and Machining Corporation is a privately owned business and is located at 1165 Squires Beach Road in Pickering, Ontario. We have been at this location for 17 years and on McKay Road in Pickering for 3 years prior. We are a fully equipped electrical service company with our main focus being electric motor and generator rewinding.

Our Management has dedicated their working lives to the electric motor industry and offer a level of experience that is difficult to match in the industry.

Larry Cordes - Larry started in the electric motor business as a salesman with a lot of ambition and aspirations of owning his own electric motor/generator repair company. With that goal accomplished it was now time to grow the company into one of the most respected electric motor service companies in Southern Ontario.

Darin Cordes - Darin followed in his father's footsteps and is taking his place in the company by beginning his electric motor career in sales. Darin looks after the Eastern part of Ontario and is now the General Manager of the company.

Dave Stones - Dave is the Plant Manager and started his career as an apprentice with Associated Electrical Industries, a major electrical equipment manufacturer, in Manchester, England. Dave passed the "City and Guilds of London" becoming an Electrical Technologist in Power Equipment and Special Techniques in Transformers.

He came to Canada and worked with Westinghouse in Saskatewan as a Field Service Engineer, servicing large power transformers and switchgear before moving to Ontario. Dave was a lead hand at General Electric in Scarborough manufacturing Hydro Powered Generators before becoming the Plant Manager at Lawrcon Electric. Dave has been in the Electrical business for 39 years.

Graeme MacIver - Graeme manages the Sales Team and Technical Services. Graeme also began his electric motor career as an apprentice with "British Electrical Repairs Limited", (BERL), in Glasgow, Scotland. In the 1960's BERL was the premier repair facility in the United Kingdom with Branches in Glasgow, London, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Cardiff and Aberdeen. With the apprenticeship over at 21 years old, Graeme spent the next 8 years on different sites throughout the United Kingdom rewinding 11,000 KV water wheel generators for the South of Scotland Hydro Electric Board, The North of Scotland Hydro Electric Board and the Central Electricity Generating Board in England, eventually supervising multiple sites where the rewinds were taking place. Graeme came to Canada at 29 years old and stayed in the Electric Motor repair business with Horizon Electric and Lawrcon. Graeme has never strayed from the Electric Motor Business and has dedicated his working life to the "Winding Business" for 42 years.

Gord Mathieu - A graduate of St Lawrence College in 1974, Queens University in 1977 and Queens University MBA in 1984, Gord is our in house Electrical Engineer and has been a Lawrcon Employee since 1997.

Fred Rymill - Fred is our newest addition. He will join our Field Services Group as a Technician. Fred has been in the Electric Motor Service Industry for 27 years beginning in Sales. Fred is qualified in Electrical Testing and Assessment, and, will be taking an active part with our Predictive Maintenance Program.

Aldo Romani - Aldo has worked in the Equipment Servicing and Sales field for the past 30 years. He has worked for large equipment manufacturers for most of his career and has developed a keen sense for customer service. Aldo knows that he is responsible for the operations of the companies Lawrcon serves, and, works as a dedicated partner to ensure that the needs and requirements of Lawrcon's clients are met in timely, efficient and cost effective manner.

Aldo's insights into the operations of many different companies and industries make him a great addition to the Lawrcon team.

The Lawrcon Management team is among the most experienced personnel in the industry and is supported by extremely qualified and loyal plant personnel. The "Plant Personnel" boasts over 300 years of experience in the industry with many of our tradesmen having in excess of 15 years service at Lawrcon.
